Explore ways to turn weight tracking into a game

People invest ridiculous amounts of time and energy into things like FarmVille and Mafia Wars and WoW. When I was losing weight the last time I found a few ways to hack my mind to make sticking to my diet and exercise plan pretty easy. I'm intrigued by the possibilities here. May be something like a challenge: actual progress vs targeted or between users. Since having this sort of things set publicly is a got motivator it could also be a good thing if progress could optionally be shared on Facebook or if you could challenge your FB friends.
